Presence where there is none.
12 8x8" Ortho Prints, hung on the windows of an abandoned bus, Storrs, CT, March 2006.
We live in a society comprised mostly of strangers. Walking through a typical American town, you will see many people that you've never met, many of which you will never see again. This is particularly noticable to me in subways, buses, and other public transit systems. While riding a public bus, I took candid, out-of-focus shots of strangers. These were then printed on Ortho transparency film and hung on the windows of an abandoned bus. Walking through this bus produced the same eerie feeling of being surrounded, and yet completely alone.
